Petrosino continued her strong play by scoring another hill-hill win against Marr, leaving Marr with a fourth-place finish. However Miu Miu Sunglasses, it was over for Petrosino when Ng bested her 7-4 in the semifinals.

they are against what they say is an inexperienced Bulls team

-- Miami has been playing more of what I see as their best lineup with Chris Bosh at center and LeBron James at power forward Fendi Sunglasses. The Heat ran down Houston Sunday and coach Erik Spoelstra made it clear to local media he isn’t resting anyone. Spoelstra said the players rested Saturday because they had a light practice. It’s also why Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau isn’t going to ease off the pedal the rest of the way. … The Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel counted 26 Heat point guards in the last 10 years with Mike Bibby starting there now. … The Magic’s J.J. Redick, last summer’s Bulls shooting guard target, has missed the last eight games with an abdominal strain and isn’t expected back soon. … Stan Van Gundy often says what no one else wants to but what they are thinking, sort of a less athletic Charles Barkley. So last week in New York, he wondered what all the fuss was about. Said Van Gundy of Madison Square Garden: “It’s not one of the nicer places in the league. It has some history, but no more so than some others Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses. Look, their last championship was in the ’70s. It’s not like this has been the premier franchise in the league for years and years and years. So, no, to me it has no significance.” The truth, to me, is the arena is pretty much a dump with circus smells all the time, a hostile audience and crumbling facilities. I do like the backlit effect like a stage show for the arena, though making it dark in the stands probably is not the best idea for New York City if you want to keep your wallet. … Van Gundy mostly got attention last week for saying the MVP race is over for Derrick Rose. So why was that controversial? Seems sort of obvious Ferragamo Sunglasses. … Magic players have been talking about getting a break in playoff seeding at No. 4 as that will mean a second round series if they advance and things stay as they are against what they say is an inexperienced Bulls team.

But it’s been more Thibodeau and Collins

But it’s been more Thibodeau and Collins, who have done the unexpected with their teams. No one, certainly, had the Bulls at the top of the East this late in the season, and few believed the 76ers could make the playoffs. But Collins is one of the best ever in putting players in position to succeed. Elton Brand has more double-doubles this season than in his first two seasons in Philadelphia combined Carrera Sunglasses, Andre Iguodala, who just fell to 5.9 rebounds, had along with LeBron James been until last week the only players averaging at least 14 points, six assists and six rebounds. Jodie Meeks has been turned into a Kyle Korver and Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young off the bench have become top Sixth Man candidates with a team moving into the top 10 in field goal defense. Collins was coach of the month in February with the team’s best monthly record in eight years. … It’s a long way down for Homewood-Flossmoor’s Julian Wright, a 2007 lottery pick who supposedly declined to come into the game with his Raptors falling behind the Warriors by 47. Though that would suggest he’s hardly the only one who gave up Oakley Sunglasses. … The whatever happened to Ben Gordon update: Averaging 6.8 points in about 18 minutes the last 10 games. "I know Ben is capable of doing more," said Pistons coach John Kuester to local media. "But as of late, Rip (Hamilton) has played at a high level Chanel Sunglasses."… One bright spot in a brutal Pistons season has been rookie Greg Monroe coming on strong, averaging 13.4 points and 9.3 rebounds on March and the most double/doubles in a season for a Pistons in the last five years.

and others like Nate McMillan and Lionel Hollins

But some also felt the Celtics should have been proactive and traded Kevin McHale or Robert Parish when they could have gotten something instead of playing it out and going to the bottom. Not that Perkins was close to retiring, but some see Green as that young star to begin building around. I don’t, but that’s just me cheap designer sunglasses. The players’ feeling seemed to be they would get the chance to ride it out for at least one more title run, and Rivers had said all season he looked toward Perkins’ return because that starting five had never lost a playoff series. What’s been interesting is what you hear from players against Boston these days. They say Garnett, a noted trash talker, has been exceptionally quiet. The feeling has been he has no one like Perkins to back him up. Now Nenad Krstic, instead. And it’s not like Garnett is a tough guy. He’s a guy who likes a tough guy behind him, sort of the bully but only in a gang. It reminds me of when the Timberwolves traded Dean Garrett and Garnett was inconsolable, literally sobbing in the locker room, as Garrett was the guy who had to guard the tougher big man, the blue collar guy who had Garnett’s back. Though if it gets Garnett to shut up, it may be good for the NBA Bvlgari Sunglasses.
NBA news and notes-- It’s perhaps the battle for Coach of the Year Monday when the 76ers are at the United Center. The Bulls’ Tom Thibodeau and the 76ers Doug Collins, a former Bulls coach, seemingly have moved into the favorite spots for the annual coaching award. San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich, though the Spurs are sliding, is still a candidate Police Sunglasses, along with the Lakers’ Phil Jackson for getting L.A. going in a tough three-peat season, and others like Nate McMillan and Lionel Hollins.

The death of top draft pick Len Bias had an effect

Everybody says it’s KG’s team, but Perk was down there doing all of the dirty work, and you need a guy like that.” That’s as close to saying the unspoken, which we haven’t heard in Boston since the surprising trade Ray Ban Sunglassesc. The Celtics Sunday blew a 25-point lead but squeaked by Minnesota, and had lost six of their last 10 and hadn’t looked very good or interested. Coach Doc Rivers dismissed any injuries saying last week, “It’s all mental. Our attitude shocks me. Right now I think we’ve just become very, very selfish. Not just in trying to get our own, but everything is about how we’re playing individually. You can see it. A guy struggles, he mopes. Everything is me, me, me Burberry Sunglasses.”
Rivers’ sad players were, “Feeling sorry for themselves, instead of giving themselves to the team and playing. You can just see it manifest itself throughout the team.” Rajon Rondo, for one, Perkins’ closest friend, has been a basket case, shooting 33 percent the last 10 games and averaging only about seven assists. And they pad his stats in Boston. What it seems more like is the players either realize or believe management has sold them out. The Perkins trade for Jeff Green seems clearly for the future, and with some foresight Miu Miu Sunglasses. Especially for someone like GM Danny Ainge, who played for the Celtics when they began their slide in the late 1980s. The death of top draft pick Len Bias had an effect.

and he really takes a lot of pressure off KG down there

You generally play it out and try to make it work. And then turn it over to the next guys if it doesn’t as you get fired. GM Donnie Walsh told New York media: "I take more responsibility than the players or the coaches because I made a monumental trade in the middle of the season, and it appears to me they're having a hard time getting together, which is understandable Versace Sunglasses. We gave up a lot. We got back a lot. But I do think this trade is going to make us better in the future. In the long run, this trade will make us a better franchise." Though does that mean a better team or more assets to make more moves? Anthony said it might take until next season for everyone to get on the same page, which may be true, though you don’t like to hear that coming into the playoffs. Like the old line about the car accident, we’re not going to be able to turn away from watching these Knicks even if we wish we could Bvlgari Sunglasses.
Celtics not the same without Perkins-- Some interesting comments from former Celtic Leon Powe to the Boston Herald about the traded Kendrick Perkins: “I thought he was here for good,” Powe said. “He was a big piece of that championship team. He was a reason they were a contender. It changes your defense completely Gucci Sunglasses. You still have (Kevin Garnett), but (Perkins) was your enforcer down there, and he really takes a lot of pressure off KG down there.

He needs to play with great intensity at workouts

"He fell," a personnel boss said. "I don't know how far he fell, but if you would have held the Draft in December, he would have been out of the lottery Fendi Sunglasses. By the end of January, it was back to 'OK, this is more what we expected.' You go through the tournament now, he's solidly in the lottery."
? The questions keep coming, from the regular season and the tournament, about the questionable focus of Jordan Hamilton. One scout rates the Texas small forward a risky pick despite obvious offensive skills, while an executive from another team said, "You don't know where his head is all the time Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses." An athlete who can score like Hamilton and has range on his jumper would usually be a lock for the lottery, especially in a weak Draft, but he continues to give the NBA reasons for concern Ferragamo Sunglasses. He needs to play with great intensity at workouts.

There is no indication Ohio State's Jared Sullinger

? There is no indication Ohio State's Jared Sullinger is wavering from the staying in school, a surprising choice by someone tracking to be a top-five pick Carrera Sunglasses. As his father detailed to the New York Times, the reasons are partly lifestyle (he's having fun) and partly basketball (Jared wants to win a national title and should play more power forward, his projected NBA position, next season). But he can only boost his Draft stock so much. Sullinger's primary areas of need for the NBA are to get taller or more athletic, and there's a good chance neither happens.
? Everyone is officially back in love with Harrison Barnes Oakley Sunglasses. The top recruit in the country last year as an Iowa prep star headed to North Carolina, he was one of several players in the mix for No. 1 on the draft board at the start of 2010-11. He had a bad opening half to his college career, then turned in a reminder of a second half. By the end of the tournament, executives were again mentioning the smooth small forward with a high basketball IQ as a candidate for the first pick Chanel Sunglasses, depending on workouts and who gets that spot in the May 17 lottery.

Except that there is this important reality check

Except that there is this important reality check: It's not hard to find teams that don't have him in the top 14, contrary to hype cheap designer sunglasses.
"I never had him in the lottery, so it didn't shock me," one GM said. "I think he's obviously a first-rounder, but probably closer to the bottom of the first half now Bvlgari Sunglasses."
Said another veteran executive: "I never thought he was better than a 20-to-25 guy. If there's one thing he can't do, it's score. That's not what he does Police Sunglasses. He's more of an energy guy who gets buckets on second-chance opportunities.... [The tournament] didn't hurt my opinion of him that much because I didn't have him that high to begin with."

in the Sweet 16 loss to the Huskies

It doesn't answer the pressing NBA question about how far away a volume shooter (who is also a freshman) is from being able to run an offense Ray Ban Sunglasses. But Knight is about three inches and 10 pounds bigger than Walker, depending on how phony the college measurements turn out to be after the pre-Draft measurements are taken, and Knight has established himself as wanting the moment. Both he and Walker project to be picked somewhere between No. 5 and No. 10.
Other Draft implications from the tournament:
? Kawhi Leonard of San Diego State cost himself money Burberry Sunglasses, or at least raised questions no prospect wants heading to the Draft. While talent evaluators like his athleticism and a versatility to play both forward spots, his disappearing act in the Aztecs' double-overtime victory against Temple in the Round of 32 -- followed by an average showing the next game against UConn -- was impossible to miss. The NBA people want to see a potential lottery pick assert himself on the big stage, but Leonard shot 2-for-6 in the second half against Temple (despite facing a lot of single coverage) and was 2-for-4 in the two OTs Miu Miu Sunglasses. He followed that up with a 5-for-12 night with 12 points and nine rebounds in the Sweet 16 loss to the Huskies.

he took it on with great confidence

He got a big win.
In the opener against Princeton in Tampa, Fla., he missed his first seven shots and was scoreless with Kentucky's tournament hopes in the balance in a 4-13 matchup Versace Sunglasses. But when Knight got the ball in a 57-57 game, he did not hesitate. He confronted a miserable day by nailing a driving layup with two seconds remaining that delivered victory.
Two games later, in the Sweet 16 against top-seeded Ohio State in the East regional at Newark, N.J., Knight had missed seven of nine field goals. He had four assists against six turnovers. It was miserable, again. And then he wanted the moment again, knocking down a jumper with six seconds left for a 62-60 win Bvlgari Sunglasses.
"It was totally obvious," one general manager said of Knight not merely stepping up but thriving in the pressure. "I don't know if he wanted it or [coach John] Calipari gave it to him Gucci Sunglasses. Regardless, even if Calipari gave it to him, he took it on with great confidence."

USC's rebuilding basketball program on Friday

USC's rebuilding basketball program on Friday was shaken at its foundation. Nikola Vucevic, the team's leading scorer and rebounder Carrera Sunglasses, announced he would sign with an agent and make himself available for the NBA draft a year early.
"It's the second year in a row that we've lost four of our top six [players] and 70% of our scoring during sanctions," Coach Kevin O'Neill said. "My job is to make sure we're better Oakley Sunglasses. Whether we can do that or not, I don't know."
Vucevic averaged 17.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and was first-team all-Pacific 10 Conference. He said he signed with BDA Sports Management to show he was making a firm commitment to the draft rather than just "testing the waters."
It's unknown how high Vucevic might be drafted Chanel Sunglasses; O'Neill, an NBA coaching veteran, said opinions he's received have varied.
"I just think this is the right time for me to leave," Vucevic said.

we were taken on a ride we never even bought a ticket for

5. THE BENCH—Nobody knew who was going to score for the Sixers this season if Andre Iguodala adapted and didn't look to score at will cheap designer sunglasses. Who could have possibly thought that the bench would be the highest scoring bench in the NBA if that was the case? The emergence of Meeks meant that the line bumped back and the Sixers got deeper. However, the real reason is that Lou Williams settled in well as the sixth man this year and understood his role was to shoot and score off the bench when the starters were sitting. I make fun of his game often, calling him "The Gunner," but I do understand that's what Collins has asked him to do. He needs to have the confidence to keep at it when he's not having a good night. Thaddeus Young(notes) may be the unsung MVP of this team Bvlgari Sunglasses. He's the Sixer's hustle guy. He's the playmaker off the bench. He's the guy that'll get the big dunk when you need the crowd back in it. He is going to have to be a stud if the Sixers don't want the upcoming series against the Miami Heat to be a bloodbath.
Spencer Hawes(notes), at 22, has been a nice addition that wasn't mentioned in this article. Evan Turner(notes), last draft's second pick, is still an open book. There may be some tradeable commodities in Mareese Speights and Andres Nocioni(notes) as well Police Sunglasses. Keep the faith Sixer fans. No matter the outcome in round one, we were taken on a ride we never even bought a ticket for.

this team foward in the coming years

4. JODIE MEEKS(notes)—Meeks was drafted 41st overall in the second round of the 2009 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He was acquired late last season for Royal Ivey(notes) and a bag of locker air fresheners. Actually, the Sixers also gave the Bucks a second round draft pick. Stefanski thought Meeks was better than anything he would have gotten in the second round of the 2010 draft Ray Ban Sunglasses. He was right.
After being on the inactive list for much of the first two weeks of the season, Meeks asked Doug Collins what he could do to crack the dress list and the rotation Burberry Sunglasses. After proving to Collins he could play, he was inserted in the starting lineup when the Sixers were 3-13. Don't think for a second that their record since then doesn't reflect that move; not only because of Meeks play, but because of how it strengthened No. 5 on our list. Meeks is fourth all-time in three-point shooting percentage for a season behind Dana Barros and two seasons by Kyle Korver(notes) Miu Miu Sunglasses. He's a solid defender who will likely see Dwayne Wade in the playoffs quite a bit. He's also part of the youth movement that will grow together and move this team foward in the coming years.

the Sixers are sitting at 27 wins like last season

3. ANDRE IGUODALA—It's become obvious that although somewhere in his slightly jaded thinking he believed it to be true, Andre Iguodala is not one of the NBA elite Versace Sunglasses. Perhaps a stint with USA Basketball was just what the doctor ordered for Iggy. When you're around that much talent for long periods of time, I imagine it's easy to become humble. Coach Collins will still give the ball to Andre in key situations, or for the final shot in a tight game. The reason, of course, is that he has no other options besides Lou Williams, and Andre is much more adept at drawing contact.
Iguodala is one of the best on-the-ball defenders in the NBA. Iggy haters will say that means nothing, but they're wrong. He's invaluable on this team Bvlgari Sunglasses. They say you can't win without a star in the NBA. That might be true, but the Sixers have no way to obtain one of those. Until they do, Iguodala is a must. He guards the opponent's best scorer every night. He's unselfish (top five assist man in the league from the forward position). He controls the tempo from the point-forward position in tight games down the stretch, and he can still electrify at times on the break. He completely changed his game this year to accommodate a growing list of young players showing the ability to score Gucci Sunglasses. If he does not make that change (and Collins deserves credit here as well), the Sixers are sitting at 27 wins like last season.

no matter what city was in the opponent's name

General Manager Ed Stefanski was lucky to still have a job from which to hire Collins after bringing in Eddie Jordan to head the team with a Princeton style offense in 2009-10. It may have been the worst coaching display since Coach Bobby Finstock in Teen Wolf Coach Sunglasses. For those who don't remember him, and for my own humor, Jordan's best advice to his players that season might have sounded a lot like this: "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses."
After that nightmare, it might have been easy for this Sixers team to pack it in after that horrendous start. Their 38-28 finish speaks volumes to the fact that Collins kept their attention Armani Sunglasses. He sold the veterans. He held the hands of the Sixer youth. And he played the cards pretty well once he realized the hand he had, no matter what city was in the opponent's name.

You know who’d tell you the same thing

You know who’d tell you the same thing? Kobe Bryant and Al Jefferson, two of the top 20 scorers in the NBA Carrera Sunglasses. Jefferson shot 5-for-18 and Bryant had more turnovers (seven) than field goals (six), the struggles indicative of a game that was every bit as hard to watch as Connecticut-Butler. Or this year's Oscar broadcast. Utah shot 40 percent and that was good enough to win by a point, 86-85, on a night the Lakers shot 38 percent and had 19 turnovers Oakley Sunglasses.
(For the Lakers it all but doomed their hopes of catching the Spurs for the best record in the league, leaving them three games behind in the loss column. But as Derek Fisher said, what difference does home-court advantage in the playoffs make if you can’t win home games? The Lakers have dropped their past two at Staples Center. This loss to an injury-riddled non-playoff team was as bad as they’ve looked all year. “You can’t dissect this game,” Lamar Odom advised reporters Chanel Sunglasses. “Don’t get intricate in your writing. We played bad, really bad.”)

It’s tough when you do that

The NBA belongs to cruel stepmothers, not Cinderellas. The league doesn’t celebrate your accomplishments before you got there, rarely even gives you a chance to look back and appreciate them.
It does take a break on the night of the NCAA championship, though, even if the endless routine of arena-bus-flight doesn’t stop cheap designer sunglasses. So it was that the year after leading Butler to an unexpected run to the final game of the tournament, when he was playing in front of 70,000 people and the largest TV audience to watch a college basketball game in 11 years, Jazz rookie guard Gordon Hayward found himself alone in a Los Angeles hotel room, rooting for his old teammates against Connecticut Bvlgari Sunglasses.
“Man, it was tough watching my guys last night,” Hayward said of a game that featured epically futile shooting as his Bulldogs lost to the Huskies. “Glued to my TV set, all by myself. I was rooting for them so hard. I know it was tough to go all the way back. They had such a great run. I don’t think they played poorly, they just missed shots Police Sunglasses. It’s tough when you do that.”

the list who will not make the Basketball Hall of Fame

8. Jerry Lucas - 38.76
Jerry Lucas was a double-double machine during his career as he averaged 17.0 points and 15.6 rebounds per game Ray Ban Sunglasses.
9. Bob Pettit - 38.75
Bob Pettit never led the league in minutes per game but his career average of 38.75 is the 9th best in NBA history.
10. Latrell Sprewell - 38.63
When not choking his head coach or otherwise causing trouble Latrell Sprewell played a lot of minutes Burberry Sunglasses. He led the league in both minutes played and minutes played per game during the 1993-94 season for the only times in his career and retired with a 38.63 minutes per game average Miu Miu Sunglasses. Sprewell is the only player on the list who will not make the Basketball Hall of Fame.

about how good a player Jerry West was

When you have a player like LeBron who can score, rebound and dish the ball it's hard to take him out of the game for any length of time Versace Sunglasses. You also know he gets tired and nicked up but just goes out and plays anyway.
6. Elgin Baylor - 40.03
Elgin Baylor never led the NBA in minutes played per game but has the 6th highest average in league history. He joined the league one year before Wilt Chamberlain did and retired one year before Wilt did Bvlgari Sunglasses.
7. Jerry West - 39.24
Jerry West has the 7th highest minutes played per game average at 39.24. West never led the league in the category. He also only won one scoring title and one assist title in his career but he played 14 years in the NBA and was all-star all 14 years Gucci Sunglasses. That pretty much tells you all you need to know about how good a player Jerry West was.

the Cleveland Cavaliers

4. Allen Iverson(notes) - 41.12
Allen Iverson led the NBA in minutes played per game 7 times in his career though he only led the league twice in total minutes played. So Iverson did miss a few games during his career but when he played he was in there for almost the whole game Coach Sunglasses. Like many talented people Iverson could be a real pain in the neck but he was a great player and won 4 scoring titles and has the 6th highest points per game total all-time (26.66) even though he is just 6' tall.
Iverson was playing in Turkey this year until he suffered a severe calf injury Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses. He should be elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame once he is eligible.
5. LeBron James - 40.15
So far in his career LeBron James has led the NBA twice in total minutes played (2004-05 and 2006-07) and once in minutes played per game (2004-05). In his first season with the Miami Heat LeBron is averaging 38.8 minutes per game which is below his career average but is actually slightly above what he averaged over his last two seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers (38.34 minutes per game) Armani Sunglasses.

By rights, the Boston Celtics should have been on the list of fallen bluebloods

By rights, the Boston Celtics should have been on the list of fallen bluebloods, and the newly rejuvenated New York Knicks on the list of inspired upstarts Prada Sunglasses. But, on Sunday night, the young, exciting members of this year’s Knicks played in a later game, as members of the Denver Nuggets, where they were traded earlier this season for Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony, as pure a scorer as exists in professional basketball, spent much of Sunday night standing in place, waiting for the ball, facing his defender once he received it, and, having seemingly considered no other options, shooting and missing a guarded, long-distance jump shot Louis Vuitton Sunglasses. For much of the game, Amare Stoudamire did the same thing, making a few more, but not many. Anthony is by a wide margin the best player in this series Replica Oakley Sunglasses, and Stoudamire might be the second, but the team missed anything resembling the quick-hitting playmaking of Derrick Rose (Bulls), Chris Paul (Hornets), or Russell Westbrook (Thunder), leaders of the new generation.

One NBA executive cited Saric and Kyle Wiltjer

One NBA executive cited Saric and Kyle Wiltjer, a 6-10 Canadian forward from Portland (he is committed to Kentucky next season) as the two Internationals with the best upside physically. "There are so many things that can happen over the next few years -- he doesn't mature Fendi Sunglasses, or he doesn't improve,'' said another NBA exec of Saric. "But he's a guy with size and a tremendous feel for the game, and to see that at his age is uncommon.''

The strangest news in the lead-up to the N.B.A. playoffs was that Steve Blake, backup point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has chicken pox. This is notable, first, because Blake is thirty-one, but even more so because three of his team’s best players—including Kobe Bryant—have never had it Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses.
The prospect, however unlikely, of the most dominant team of the past ten years being downed by a childhood disease was a fitting cap to a weekend that suggested a changing of the guard. A decade that had been dominated by half-court players seemed to be giving way this season, ever so slightly, to an era of fast breaks and darting point guards. And over the weekend, the Lakers, the Spurs, and the Magic, royalty of the last half-decade, each dropped Game Ones to members of the N.B.A.’s Young Turks: athletic Ferragamo Sunglasses, up-tempo teams with names like the Hornets, the Grizzlies, and the Thunder.

converting a three-pointer and pushing the ball in transition

Davis Bertans, a 6-10, 215-pound Latvian forward who plays for Union Olimpija in Slovenia, could also be a first-round pick. "He's a better shooter than Dirk Nowitzki was at the same age,'' said the NBA scout Carrera Sunglasses. Though he was a cold 3-of-10 for eight points Saturday, Bertans demonstrated his skill by catching a pass around his ankles and going straight up to convert a corner three.
His father is a coach in Latvia, and as a result Bertans has been playing basketball for as long as he can remember. "Some people say it's like immediately after the birth I was in the gym,'' he said. "My mother said when the ball stopped and there was silence, I was crying; but when somebody was dribbling the ball, I was sleeping Oakley Sunglasses.''
A couple of other intriguing Europeans were 6-7 guard Evan Fournier of France, a prolific scorer who plans to enter the draft in 2012, and Croatian Dario Saric, a 6-10, 215-pound forward with the skillset of a point forward, three-point shooter and rebounder. Saric (seven points and six rebounds) was the youngest player in the game -- he celebrated his 17th birthday this week -- and initially was visibly nervous with the ball against the U.S. speed Chanel Sunglasses. In the second half, he became more assertive while using his size to rebound, converting a three-pointer and pushing the ball in transition.

Biyombo is a highly engaging character

Biyombo is a highly engaging character. His favorite NBA players are a couple of All-Star power forwards, Kevin Love and Kevin Garnett. "Kevin Garnett is intense player -- every time he's not on the floor, his team is missing him,'' said Biyombo cheap designer sunglasses. "I want to (play) defense as a team. I want to help everybody on my team and I want to win the game ... That's what I heard from my first coach, that the good offense is defense. If I block a lot of shots then it's good offense. If I get a lot of rebounds, then it's good offense.''
After the game, Biyombo stood in the locker room and thanked his teammates and coaches for the opportunity to spend the week in their company Bvlgari Sunglasses.
Another potential first-round pick is Brazilian 7-footer Lucas Riva Nogueira, an 18-year-old known as "Bebe'' (Baby). He is a slim 218 pounds, though he has gained 20 pounds in the last year. And while he is extremely raw offensively, he intrigued scouts by driving left-handed from the top of the key to finish with an explosive dunk during practice Friday. But the competition appeared too fast for him Saturday, leaving him with just four points Police Sunglasses, six rebounds and one block in 13 minutes.

When I asked him Thursday how long he had been playing basketball

When I asked him Thursday how long he had been playing basketball, he postponed the discussion. "I can say that at this time I prefer to focus on the Nike week,'' he said with a grin Ray Ban Sunglasses. "So I will be around here after the game and I'll let people know everything they want to know, and people will question me everything they want to question and I give the answer.''
On Saturday he said he had been playing basketball since he was 12, both on an outdoor court near his home as well as on an indoor floor at his high school Burberry Sunglasses.
He began his professional career in Yemen in 2009, and then moved to the Spanish fourth division in 2009-10. He quickly worked his way up to Spain's ACB, the top national league in Europe, where he is currently averaging 6.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 14 games with the club Fuenlabrada. "The way I play here, I play everywhere Miu Miu Sunglasses,'' he said following the Hoop Summit. "In the ACB I play with a lot of smart guys, I play with a lot of strong guys, and when I step on the court I just want to kill them.''

Paul also turned in poor scoring efforts

Paul also turned in poor scoring efforts in two of his previous four games, being held to five
points April 1 in a loss to Memphis and seven in Friday's victory over Phoenix Carrera Sunglasses.
New Orleans (46-34) dropped into a tie with the Grizzlies for seventh place in the Western
Conference. Those teams trail sixth-place Portland by one game, and the Hornets have the
tiebreaker advantage over both those teams.
"The only thing we can control is our wins and losses," Paul said. "We're one of those teams, we
haven't been together long enough to say this is who we want to play, or who we don't want to
play. We've just got to continue to play, deal with it as a team, and deal with who we have to
play when we get to it Oakley Sunglasses."
The rivalry between New Orleans and Utah (37-43) used to feature point guard duels between Paul
and Deron Williams - players drafted one selection apart by these teams in 2005. They met 16
times, with Williams' Jazz winning 12.
Williams, though, was traded to New Jersey on Feb. 23, and New Orleans won 121-117 in overtime on
March 24 in the first meeting since that deal Chanel Sunglasses. Paul had 24 points and 12 assists to help the
Hornets take a 2-1 lead in the season series.

they just didn't go in

But those stats mean little as Murphy found out in recent practices leading up to the start of the
first-round series against the Knicks cheap designer sunglasses.
“I’ve noticed the intensity level in practice the last couple of days. Things have definitely
stepped,” Murphy said. “For me, I’m trying to stay focused as this is new for me.”
Chris Paul has accomplished plenty during his six NBA seasons, but never had he gone scoreless
until his last game.
He'll get a chance to bounce back quickly and help the New Orleans Hornets try to boost their
playoff seeding when they play their regular-season home finale Monday night against the Utah
Jazz Bvlgari Sunglasses.
The four-time All-Star missed all six shots from the field and both attempts from the line in
Sunday's 111-89 loss at Memphis. He scored one point in a 102-86 victory over Portland on Feb. 15,
2006, for his previous low.
"I just couldn't make nothing," Paul said. "There's a first time for everything Police Sunglasses. I had some good
looks, they just didn't go in."

The worst part is that the season ends and half

“The worst part is that the season ends and half the league is still playing,” said Murphy.
“Then you’re home and watching all these games and you’re not involved Ray Ban Sunglasses. That’s the most
frustrating part.”
Murphy’s streak of NBA futility appeared to be safe early in this season as he struggled through
injuries with a bottom-dwelling Nets team. After playing in just 18 games, he was traded to the
Warriors in a three-player deal which included former Governor’s Academy star Dan Gadzuric.
No one expected Murphy to stay with the Warriors long and the quickly-executed buyout allowed the
former Notre Dame star just enough time to hook on with a veteran team looking for bench help in
the postseason Burberry Sunglasses.
“It’s a definite change for me with this whole season,” said Murphy. “I went from not even
being around a team to coming in here, so that’s a big change. Any time you change teams, there’
s always that transition period.”
Murphy made his debut on the same day of his signing, playing 14 minutes and grabbing a pair of
rebounds. He went on to play 17 games for the Celtics Miu Miu Sunglasses, averaging 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds a
game.

Lakers center Andrew Bynum participated

Lakers center Andrew Bynum participated in a full practice Friday, three days after suffering a
hyperextended right knee during their home finale against San Antonio Versace Sunglasses.
When Troy Murphy was drafted by Golden State in the first round of the 2001 NBA Draft, little did
he realize it would be 10 years before he sampled the fruits of playoff basketball for the first
time.
This was precisely what the 6-foot-10 forward wanted when he negotiated a buyout with the Warriors
on Feb. 27.
Two days later, Murphy opted for the Celtics [team stats] over the Heat, feeling they presented
him with the best opportunity to play meaningful games in late spring Bvlgari Sunglasses.
“I’m really pumped to be here and still be playing,” said Murphy, who played in 17 games for
the Celtics. “Hopefully we will be playing for while.”
After spending five full seasons with the Warriors, failing to finish higher than 11th in the
Western Conference, Murphy was a part of a blockbuster eight-player deal with Indiana Gucci Sunglasses. As fate
would have it, the Warriors rallied to make the playoffs while the Pacers were five games out of
the final postseason spot in the Eastern Conference.

Former Michigan standout DeShawn Sims was named the NBA

Former Michigan standout DeShawn Sims was named the NBA Development League's 2010-11 rookie of the

He was awarded the honor based on a vote by the league's coaches Coach Sunglasses.
Sims averaged 20.3 points, fourth-best in the league, in 48 games with the Maine Red Claws. He
also averaged 7.7 rebounds and shot 50.6% from the field during the season.
Sims scored in double figures in 41 games and registered 13 double-doubles.

But if the Raptors bring him back Bargnani

But if the Raptors bring him back Bargnani would no longer be the person to blame for his status as
one of the league’s official enigmas Ray Ban Sunglasses; a tease of a talent unable to harness it.
If he comes back the fault would lie with the person – whoever that might be -- who didn’t turn
him into assets that will be able to help what will be infant core again next year. After months of speculation that he would buy the home team, Tom Gores has finally signed on the
dotted line for the Detroit Pistons. Terms for the deal, which also includes the Pistons’ home
arena and some various concert venues Burberry Sunglasses, weren’t disclosed, but Mike Ozanian over at Forbes pegged
the deal in the near $400 million range when investor Mike Illitch was still sniffing around in
March.
First quarter fund-raising numbers courtesy of Dow Jones’ LP Source offered some interesting
insight into what is sure to be the busiest marketing year in recent memory. U.S. private equity
and venture capital firms raised more than double the $13.5 billion raised during the same period
last year Miu Miu Sunglasses, but the number of closings only rose to 89 from 81.

Bargnani has played five seasons

Bargnani has played five seasons, including one in which he fell off a cliff (his second season)
and this past year when he regressed in some significant areas. There is no threat of him leading a
preschool class across the street, let alone an NBA franchise deep into the playoffs Versace Sunglasses.
When your head coach says getting you to play basic help defense and secure some rebounds is like
“ asking a home-run hitter to bunt”; the ship has sailed.
Bargnani was not a bad choice as the first overall pick in a weak draft. He was signed to a
relatively decent contract extension and for that money he’s willing to shoot often and
occasionally spectacularly well, while otherwise mixing in the rest of a growing bag of me-first
offense when the mood strikes Bvlgari Sunglasses, as long as someone else picks up the mess left over at either end of
the floor. There may be more to come from his game, but there’s been no evidence it’s going to
come here.
Bargnani’s best contribution is as a reasonable contract for a player in his prime who can put up
some shiney numbers Gucci Sunglasses. Played in shorter minutes against second-unit players – a 7-1 Jamaal Crawford
– he might even emerge as a helpful piece on a good team.

Nowitzki is still going, but he’d arrived in full by his fifth NBA season

As Jay Triano said during the Raptors season-ending press conferences yesterday, “We know we’re
infant.”
DeMar DeRozan, who Triano gushed about – suggesting he’d take DeRozan over last year’s rookie of
the year winner Tyreke Evans -- is 21;as is rookie Ed Davis Coach Sunglasses. Whoever they draft in June is likely
going to be younger than that. They have veteran presence in the likes of Jose Calderon. Reggie
Evans can be resigned if the feeling is they need more.
Even at 25 the five-year veteran centre who struggles as an offensive player, let alone a defensive
one (Triano referred to him as a ‘good’ on-the-ball defender. Help side? Bargnani’s guess is as
good as yours) doesn’t fit on a team heading for another year of rebuilding Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses.
No way. After all, whatever Bargnani’s potential might be, it’s clear he’s got no Nowitzki-like
upside.
At this stage of his career Nowitzki had just racked up a 25 and 10 year with three assists a game
on a team that went 60-22. He was a couple of years from leading Dallas to a 2-0 lead in the NBA
Finals Armani Sunglasses. Nowitzki is still going, but he’d arrived in full by his fifth NBA season.

The spike in scoring – from 17.2 points a game to 21.4 a game

The spike in scoring – from 17.2 points a game to 21.4 a game; (second among centres in the NBA
his dwindling supporters would tell you) – came from more trips to the free throw line (a career-
high 5.3 per game) and more shots (his 17.8 attempts from the floor more than Chris Bosh ever took
in his career, or ever will, now that he's in Miami) but obscured his decline in every rebounding
measure, in blocked shots, in shooting percentage and an increase in turnovers Christian Dior Sunglasses.
With more opportunities, Bargnani scored more and did everything else less except give it away.
The only argument in his favour; the only thing that prevents him from being an albatross is that
he is paid relatively affordably, by NBA standards, his four-year, $42-million contract not the
kind of number that will have rival teams hanging up the phone Oakley Sunglasses Cheap.
Moving Bargnani is not a core strategy, according the NBA sources; but it's been discussed and
there's a sense that Bargnani's potential and his pay cheque would have other teams on the phone in
significant numbers. "There are 29 other teams out there who think they could help them," said one
source.
Which is why the most important move Bryan Colangelo – or whoever ends up running the Raptors for
whatever ownership group is in place – can make is trade the player he drafted as a bigger Arnette Sunglasses, more
athletic Dirk Nowitzki.

offense is supposed to be his strength

There was a sense of optimism, though, as players cleared out their lockers. Augustin talked of how
he was going to work on shooting floaters to lessen the amount of contact the 6-footer receives in
the paint. Tyrus Thomas Prada Sunglasses, Shaun Livingston and Jackson were confident they'd be healthy from
injuries that ended their seasons early.
But Jackson still thought about what could have been if they didn't get off to such a poor start
under Brown.
"A lot of things would have been different," Jackson said. "Next year I think we'll have all those
things together."
With the Toronto Raptors season over and the franchise’s future almost never more uncertain, the
question begins in earnest: Is Andrea Bargnani worth it Louis Vuitton Sunglasses?
The No.1 pick in the NBA draft has played five full seasons and proven himself --- without debate
this time -- to be what he’s always been: an enigma Replica Oakley Sunglasses.
This season his usage rate (the amount of time he had the ball in his hands) increased, his minutes
increased and his scoring increased. But in his first opportunity to be the primary option for an
NBA team he regressed, and don’t forget, offense is supposed to be his strength.

I think a little bit too many changes were made

"I think a little bit too many changes were made, I think the guys bought in, but eight new guys off a 46-win team was a little tough," Bogut said Versace Sunglasses. "We thought we made great moves to get us over the line, to get us to the second round and it didn't work out like that. "I should definitely be a little bit more pain free than I was this season." Second-year point guard Brandon Jennings dealt with a broken foot midway through the year and only managed to crack a smile Thursday talking about Kurt Thomas Gucci Sunglasses, who was on the roster last season when the team took Atlanta to a Game 7 in the first round.

them on offense and in the locker room

The Bucks were the lowest-scoring team (91.9 points per game) in the NBA in three years and the worst shooting team (43.0 percent) since the franchise's expansion year in 1968-69. "It's a bitter pill to swallow for sure Coach Sunglasses," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said Thursday. "My personal belief is there's no reason to try and put a positive spin on it other than we have a lot of work to do and we've got to start that work almost immediately and try to get better." The uncertain labor future hangs over everyone in the NBA. Dooling is vice president of the player's union executive committee and has been keeping his teammates informed on everything from the latest on negotiations to advising rookie Larry Sanders how to put money away for what may be a long work stoppage Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses. "Obviously the NFL is going through their deal, so we'll see a clearer picture because they'll have to run the race first," Dooling said. "I just really want to see a fair deal for both sides. ... It's just a matter of splitting that dollar up and being fair with each other Armani Sunglasses." Splitting up things was a big problem for the Bucks on a team level, too, with those chemistry issues that affected them on offense and in the locker room.

chemistry issues and far too few victories

Forward Reeves Nelson, the team's leading scorer and rebounder, will be back, as will 6-foot-10, 305-pound center Joshua Smith Christian Dior Sunglasses, who is primed to become the top big man in the country as a sophomore next season. "I'm very, very optimistic and excited about our team next year," Howland said. "We're going to be very young. We're going to have a very formidable front line." Peter Yoon covers UCLA for ESPNLosAngeles.com. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report Oakley Sunglasses Cheap. MILWAUKEE — Drew Gooden is going back to Kansas to get three hours closer to a college degree in communications. Andrew Bogut believes he'll see the Australian summer for the first time in nearly a decade. Keyon Dooling will fill his time with labor issues. None of the Bucks wants to dwell on this season Arnette Sunglasses. A year after reaching the postseason for the first time since 2006, Milwaukee slumped back into its losing habits with a 35-47 year marked by injuries, chemistry issues and far too few victories.

In my opinion

"In my opinion, I thought that would have been in his best interest," Howland said. "Obviously that is what's best for UCLA basketball, but I honestly Prada Sunglasses, in my heart, really believed that with all the factors that was in his best interest." Lee's departure is the second this offseason for the Bruins, following Tyler Honeycutt's exit on March 29. The Bruins had been projected as a preseason top-10 team next season, but the losses of Lee and Honeycutt tempers expectations. "I really believe that if we had both of them back we would have had a chance to challenge, no question, in that category," Howland said Louis Vuitton Sunglasses. Howland said Lee plans to move to Las Vegas and begin his pre-draft workouts as he rehabs his knee. Still, Howland has reason for optimism. Twins David Wear and Travis Wear, 6-foot-10 transfers from North Carolina, will be eligible, and incoming freshman guard Norman Powell will help fill the void left by LeeReplica Oakley Sunglasses. Also, Howland said he would announce another signing -- expected to be City College of San Francisco transfer De'End Parker, another 6-foot-5, athletic guard.

but ultimately Lee had the final say

An NBA front office source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Lee would go in the second round at best and could go undrafted. ESPN.com's Chad Ford has him ranked as the No. 73 prospect in the country Fendi Sunglasses. However, Howland said his NBA front-office sources have indicated that Lee would go in the second round, which carries some risk because second-round picks don't figure as prominently as first- round picks in the plans of the drafting team. "So his thing right now is to try to do a great job in his preparation so that he can try to get himself ready and try to get himself into the first round," Howland said Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses. Complicating matters is the surgery Lee had to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on March 22. Lee is still rehabilitating the injury and Howland said he is still at least three weeks away from being able to play at pre-surgery levels. Howland said he advised Lee to come back to school to try and improve his draft status and spoke with Lee's family Ferragamo Sunglasses, but ultimately Lee had the final say.

Aldridge has played a huge role in Portland

Aldridge has played a huge role in Portland clinching the 6th seed and getting Dallas instead of LA or San Antonio, but to make those efforts count, Roy will need to step up, make his shots and play like the Brandon Roy that turned the Blazers around from finishing 10th-15th in the conference to a regular playoff team. Roy can shoot well and hand games to Portland when he plays well, and I think his shooting ability and scoring touch will be on display Prada Sunglasses. Add in some assists and you have yourself a new Brandon Roy. If Roy succeeds, Portland succeeds. Bold Prediction #10: Philadelphia will challenge Miami They may fall on the short end in a few close games, but Miami could definitely lose to Philadelphia in the first round. Andre Iguodola, Elton Brand, Lou Williams, Jrue Holiday, and Thaddeus Young have all proved capable of carrying a load, and if they carry that in the playoffs Louis Vuitton Sunglasses, the Big Three's first year together could end terribly. Although Philadelphia has no real leadership, and Elton Brand has the only real source of playoff experience, they can still bring a challenge to Miami. I think Philadelphia's depth will challenge Miami's stardom, and even though the close games will most likely go to Miami, Philadelphia won't go down easily. The depth and bench of Philadelphia will provide a challenge for Miami, and even though the Heat will take the series, it won't be as easy as it seems Replica Oakley Sunglasses. The Sixers showed they won't go away easily in Game 1, and they won't go away easily in the rest of the series.

Portland won't do well

Bold Prediction #8: The Denver Nuggets will not play as well in the playoffs Once Denver gave up Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, everyone thought they were toast. But this cast of players with no real star (comparison, 2010 San Francisco Giants) has proved them wrong and secured the 5th seed in the West. Unfortunately for the Nuggets, a tough test awaits Fendi Sunglasses. Oklahoma City has beat the Nuggets 3 out of 4 times, and the Thunder took out the Nuggets in Christmas Day when Kevin Durnt scored 44 points. Denver has Raymond Felton, but Russell Westbrook will take the point guard matchup. Felton is the team's real star, but Westbrook and Durant can dominate Felton. Durant has more skill and ability than any Nugget by far, and Russell Westbrook takes second prize. This plus a great OKC crowd will help discourage the Nuggets, leading to better defense, which the Thunder might need. Denver-OKC looks good on paper Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses, but paper doesn't always tell the truth, does it? Bold Prediction #9: Brandon Roy will rise to the occasion I have mentioned this a lot before, but Brandon Roy will definitely need to step up for the Portland Trail Blazers to succeed. They can beat Dallas and LA without contribution from Roy if Aldridge scores 30 a game and Matthews scores 25, but Brandon Roy steeping up is much easier. Roy can shoot, but has been struck by injuries Ferragamo Sunglasses, and if the injury bug takes away his athleticism and playing time, Portland won't do well.

goodbye San Antonio

Bold Prediction 7: San Antonio will not make it past Round 2 Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobli are all good, but are they getting a little old? Ginobli is injured, Parker took a step down from 2009-10 and Duncan is definitely not the same. Although they came together well and picked up a top seed for the Spurs, challenges await them, and they aren't going to be easy. Memphis is 46-36 and not to be overlooked, for Zach Randolph averages more PPG than any Spurs player and can overpower Duncan Carrera Sunglasses, and OKC is definitely not a team you want to overlook. If you do, well, good luck. The West is pretty jampacked with talent, but just like Dallas, the Spurs got bad luck. Memphis was very close to getting a 7 or 6 seed, but they decided to rest their players and stick with San Antonio. The Spurs will probably get them back for that Oakley Sunglasses, but the winner of OKC-Denver is not anyone you want to play. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant can run all over San Antonio (if they were playing well and San Antonio wasn't completely on their game), and Denver has Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari and about 8 guys who can play ball and can play ball well Chanel Sunglasses. The Spurs have struggled towards the end of the year, and they can't carry that into the playoffs and they can't show their age. If they do, goodbye San Antonio.

for what Orlando did to Atlanta last year

Bold Prediction #6: Atlanta will beat Orlando in 6 Games or less The Hawks didn't play well in the last week of the season, but they still locked up the 5th seed and a date with the Orlando Magic. The Magic are good and experienced cheap designer sunglasses, but can they beat a team they only defeated once in the regular season? Plus, Atlanta started making the playoffs regularly at about the same time Orlando did, so you can't really give Orlando the edge there, and if you look closely, Atlanta has guys that can step up. Dwight Howard is the best player in the series, averaging 22.9 PPG and 14.1 RPG, but Gilbert Arenas hasn't played as well as expected, Jameer Nelson has struggled, and as a result Bvlgari Sunglasses, the Magic dropped from 2 straight years as a second seed to a fourth seed. Joe Johnson, Al Horford and Josh Smith have all played well for Atlanta, and they can easily overpower Howard. Arenas is past his prime, and he can be taken by either Kirk Hinrich or Jamal Crawford. Crawford is inconsistent and Hinrich is past his prime, but they aren't out yet. In fact, Arenas vs. Hinrich is a pretty even matchup, and throw in Jamal Crawford, and you have yourself some Atlanta domination. If Brandon Bass doesn't rise to the occasion, forget it Police Sunglasses. The Hawks journey may end if the Bulls make it to Round 2, but Round 1 will be a nice way to get revenge for what Orlando did to Atlanta last year.

The only thing that Chicago needs to do better

The only thing that Chicago needs to do better is to use their advantages. Chicago let Indiana take a lot of open shots (that went in) in Game 1, and if they don't use their height advantage, Indiana could beat them. The Bulls just need to play smart basketball Ray Ban Sunglasses, and they will be good. Chicago beat Indiana in 2 of the 3 regular season games, they swept Miami and they won the last 2 against Boston (in addition to a dominant late-season win over New York). If the Bulls use Boozer, Noah, and Deng to their advantage, the playoffs will come easy to Chicago, and a seventh title will be delivered to the Windy City. Bold Prediction #5: LA will struggle in the playoffs Now, I never said the Lakers would lose early, but even though I have them facing a seventh and sixth seed in the first round, it will be tough. Kobe, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and the Lakers have been to the past 3 NBA Finals (winning the last 2), and they have been able to win many close games. But now, they are getting older Burberry Sunglasses, and young teams like Portland and Oklahoma City are in the playoffs with them. Los Angeles will not have much trouble with Chris Paul and New Orleans, considering Chris Paul isn't the same player he was in 2008 and David West hasn't lived up to his full potential. The Hornets had a nice year, but LA will knock them out easily. However, Portland brings a challenge, as LaMarcus Aldridge and Wesley Matthews have stepped up in a year where Brandon Roy has struggled. But if Roy plays like he did when he was the star of the team, Portland will beat LA. Unfortunately for Portland, the injury bug has struck Roy a couple times Miu Miu Sunglasses, and if it does during the playoffs, the Blazers will be in trouble. If not, LA is in trouble. Even if the Lake Show make it to the conference finals, an experienced team like San Antonio or a young but talented team like Oklahoma City will most likely await them. Los Angeles can win another, but the road to the show is tougher than it seems.

All it took was one carefully crafted question from veteran

All it took was one carefully crafted question from veteran CP newsman Keith Leslie about the actor’s reputation for smoking on-stage for reporters to speedily move off the jail story the Tories have been pushing around like a dog with a bone Christian Dior Sunglasses. Fair enough, when the Tories first came up with a story that the government has been paying for premium cable service for jailbirds, it was kind of sexy. But it turned out to be surprisingly thin — especially when we discovered it was the previous Tory government that had brought in the premium service — at a cost of $71,000 — to make up for the lack of programs in jails. It’s not like prisoners in provincial jails are hardened criminals. They’re people who’ve been given sentences less than two years less a day. When the Tories lamented on the second day that prisoners were taking yoga and creative writing courses it was vaguely interesting. Then we found out the programs were put on by volunteers — and you started to wonder just what the Tories wanted us to do with people convicted of minor crimes. Lock them up and throw away the key? I’m probably the toughest law-and-order type around, but even I believe you have to provide some kind of rehabilitation to prisoners Oakley Sunglasses Cheap. Was I ticked that we paid for convicted killer Karla Homolka to get a university degree? You bet. But she was in a federal prison. For young people especially, who’ve been convicted of a petty crime, surely the aim of prison should be to re-educate that person so they can return to society with some skills so they don’t re-offend. If a group of nuns volunteer to do that, shouldn’t we all applaud, rather than tut-tut? Sheen’s show “My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not An Option Show” is at Massey Hall Thursday and Friday. Best encouraged him to call the government hotline number for help. As one wag pointed out, though, this province has a big enough deficit as it is. Can we really afford to bail out Sheen’s multitude of well-publicized substance abuse issues? Still, Sheen’s now joined the laundry list of celebrities who’ve run afoul of laws in Toronto the Good. Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards performed a charity concert for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in reparation for his 1978 conviction for heroin possession. Sean Penn got off with a warning, but a hotel was fined $600 for allowing him to light up at Toronto’s film festival. And federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, when he was provincial attorney general, mused about banning rapper Eminem because of his misogynist lyrics. Anyway, Charlie, the good news is this: If you do get busted here — for whatever — the premier cable package has been cut, but you can still have a nun teach you yogaArnette Sunglasses. Is this a great place, or what?

And the New York Post declared Sheen’s

And the New York Post declared Sheen’s “bomb threat was defused” after Sunday’s success. “Wild man Charlie Sheen’s ‘Torpedo of Truth’ redux at Radio City Music Hall last night had the audience cheering -- just two days after the fired ‘Two and a Half Men’ star was booed and heckled off the same stage.” Note to Charlie Sheen: Premier Dad wants to help you Fendi Sunglasses. Yep, I know, you probably really don’t give a bleep. But his lovely Health Promotions Minister Margarett Best — once voted sexiest MPP — has offered to personally help you quit smoking. “He can give me a call. I will certainly direct him how to get the help that he needs Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses,” Best told reporters Thursday. Perhaps she could be one of his godesses. Be careful, though, Charlie. Here in Ontario, we only care about your nicotine habit. As for the hookers and the crack — well, you’re on your own. The evil weed here is not pot. It’s tobacco. How did this all come about on an otherwise uneventful Thursday at the Legislature Ferragamo Sunglasses? In a blink of an eye, the Queen’s Park message track got thrown under the train.

by all indications a more positive-minded show

Saturday: Oakdale Theatre in ConnecticutThe Middletown Press’ Pamela McLoughlin said Sheen, after reviewers went for the jugular in Detroit and after Friday’s New York City show, hit his stride in Connecticut. He even received a hero’s welcome: “The sold-out, one-hour show was profane, boisterous and sloppy, all the things Sheen has become famous for in past months Carrera Sunglasses.” The Hartford Courant’s Roger Catlin said without any real show at all, Sheen’s rebound from Friday’s NYC disaster was driven by the Saturday night audience at the Oakdale Theatre. “The difference is that the Connecticut crowd cheered his every boorish declaration instead of booing it Oakley Sunglasses.” Sunday: Radio City Music Hall in New York CityTMZ.com was quick to report that Sheen rebounded “like a champ” in the Big Apple Sunday night. In its blow-by-blow review, TMZ reported that Michigan native and “Inside the Actors Studio” host James Lipton not only caught the show but made his way up onstage to ask Sheen what his favorite curse word is. Sheen answered, “Either (F-bomb) or Denise.” As in ex-wife Denise Richards. Former New York baseball star Darryl Strawberry also appeared at the show Chanel Sunglasses. The Wrap called the New York City shows “bipolar: Two days after Charlie Sheen was booed at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, he bounced back to score two standing ovations Sunday in what was by all indications a more positive-minded show.”

Starting with Friday’s stinker

Starting with Friday’s stinker, here’s a quick look at some of the reviews from Sheen’s weekend shows: Friday: Radio City Music Hall in New York CityThe New York Post’s Andrea Peyser ripped Sheen’s NYC opener cheap designer sunglasses. Calling him a chain-smoking criminal who lobbed obscenities like a “4-year-old suffering from Tourette’s,” she described his stories about Hollywood, hookers and being rich as pointless and boring. “Charlie Sheen stank up Radio City Music Hall (Friday) night like a flatulent goddess.” Entertainment Weekly was on hand for Sheen’s Friday night show and said, simply Bvlgari Sunglasses, “It was Detroit all over again, an aimless and slovenly disaster, with the crowd taking less than 20 minutes to turn on him. And once they did, the boos and the catcalls just kept slowly escalating.” Eonline.com touched down in the Big Apple on Friday and although the reviewers felt it wasn’t as bad as Detroit, the self-declared warlock wasn’t much of a hit, either Police Sunglasses. “Sheen cut the appearance short, ending about 30 minutes earlier than his shows in Ohio, and closing with these semi-kind words: ‘I love you, New York. You’re the best crowd ever -- well, some of you.’”

Los Angeles is one of the gayest cities in America

"Los Angeles is one of the gayest cities in America, and the message I'm getting from many is that they are no longer Kobe Bryant fans," Zeigler said. "You can't use that word and get away with it anymore, because the gay community is just tired of hearing it." While Bryant eventually said many things to many different outlets and organizations Wednesday, the main focus was on his initial statement issued by the Lakers in which he said Fendi Sunglasses, "My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings toward the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone." Although Bryant obviously found the caps key, did he find real regret? Zeigler said that he could not find an apology in there, nor a real reason why Bryant was using that word. "When I am in the heat of battle, and I get upset, that word has never come out of my mouth," Zeigler said. "It came out of Kobe's mouth for a reason. Clearly, he thinks using that word is demeaning. It's the worst thing you can be called in the sports world, because many people there think being gay is the worst thing in the world you can be." There has been no indication that Bryant is one of those people, and even Zeigler said, "I would never call him a raging homophobic Roberto Cavalli Sunglasses; I don't know what's in his heart." In fact, shortly before Wednesday's overtime victory against the host Sacramento Kings, Bryant apparently called Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign, a civil rights organization working for equality for all sexualities, and apologized more pointedly. "At the end of a difficult day, I applaud Kobe for coming forward and taking responsibility for his actions," Solmonese said in a statement. Whatever words followed that initial statement, Bryant now needs to support them with action, and riding that float sounds like a great idea. If Bryant thinks that is not really an NBA thing, was he not watching in February when the Clippers hosted an Equality Night for Equality California, a lesbian, gay Ferragamo Sunglasses, bisexual and transgender civil rights group? Said Zeigler: "Kobe is an adult, he's a role model, he knows better."

You called someone a "faggot,"

You called someone a "faggot," and you say you didn't mean to offend anyone? That may work in the insulated sports world, but not in a diverse and tolerant Los Angeles that has mostly supported you for your entire adult life. You need to fix this, Kobe. In the last 15 years, I've seen Kobe Bryant grow from a snotty kid to a strong and sensible man, but he is still filled with some sharp edges that make him difficult to embrace Carrera Sunglasses, and his city felt one of them Tuesday night at Staples Center when television caught him shouting the anti-gay slur known in the gay community as "the F word." He had just been given a technical foul. He had just punched a chair. He was screaming at official Bennie Adams. He was Kobe being Kobe. But then he dropped the F word on Adams, and now we're all wondering, is that also Kobe? The NBA immediately fined him $100,000, but he has appealed it, and is that Kobe? Entering the final two months of a journey that could bring him a sixth NBA title — one more than Magic Johnson — Bryant is putting the final touches on the legacy of a champion. But because it has been filled with so many bumps and bruises, that legacy remains as fragile as his knees. Any perception that he is homophobic, especially in Los Angeles, would chip away at his newly strengthened cornerstone while adding to the smoldering wreckage of the days when he was scorned for his recklessness off the court and his selfishness on it. Bryant's taut personality will never allow him to spend his post-basketball career like the charismatic and influential Magic. But if he wants to maintain his own brand of magic Oakley Sunglasses, he needs to show folks that the screaming fool on Tuesday night was indeed not him. "Gay Pride parade, West Hollywood, middle of June, Kobe rides a float, and we're all good," said Cyd Zeigler, co-founder of Outsports.com, the locally based gay sports website. "And if he's playing in the NBA Finals then, we can find something else." Zeigler, whose site has become a national touchstone for the gay sports community, was serious Chanel Sunglasses. He said he's heard from many folks Wednesday who were outraged by the Bryant remark and apparent lack of remorse.
